Whats in My Bag: NYFW
I have been dying to post this for a while now! I feel that a post dedicated to suggestions of the things you should have in your bag during fashion week could be very helpful to my fashionistas out there, ’cause I know I could have used one over the years. So the reason I had to wait so long to post this is because I have been waiting for my business cards to come. I had them custom made on Zazzle and I am so in love with how they came out. I first was introduced to the website when Danielle Bernstein of We Wore What bought her team some marble notebooks and I love marble ..and I love notebooks so I immediately went to the site. I ended up loving it, you can really get anything and they are always having a sale. I had a really difficult time choosing the template of my cards. There were so many to choose from, but once I saw those cheetah sunnies I was like “wow, that screams chic”. Which leads me to the first thing you should carry with you in your purse during fashion week, business cards! Networking is so important in this industry, and having a card on hand makes it easy to make connections. I linked the Zazzle website above in case you wanted to pick a business card template for yourself or just check out the site! The next thing that I keep in my purse always comes in handy. Whether you are wearing a new pair of shoes or just a gorg pair that are super uncomfortable, blister band aids are always a good idea. I really like the ones that Dr.Scholl’s makes, they are nice and sticky so I don’t have to worry about them falling off, but comfortable enough that I forget that they are there. I always thank myself at the end of the night if I forget to bring an extra pair of shoes in my purse. Which leads me to my next suggestion! I always like to carry an extra pair of shoes with me while I’m in NYC. Just the thought of being able to take your painful heels off and unwind while commuting is the best feeling ever. With that being said, I always keep a pair of black patent leather Yosi Samras in my purse. They are a super comfortable ballet flat that folds up which is so perfect for travel. Not only are they comfortable and convenient, but they are affordable and have lasted me a few years already. Definitely a must have! Keep in mind when bringing an extra pair of shoes along you should have a big enough bag to hold the shoes you’re going to take off (I’ve made this mistake a few times and it’s annoying and embarrassing.) My next tip Fashion Week purse hack is a mobile charger, these things save lives. Think of the amount of time you spend on your phone at shows video taping, taking photos, snapchatting, editing, etc. You walk out of your first show of the day like ‘crap, I’m at 48%’. Instead of bringing a regular charger with you and walking around in circles looking for an outlet on the wall, invest in a mobile charger. I’ve linked a few below! The next item in my bag I have spoke about a few times and it truly is my holy grail, I’m talking about the MAC lip conditioner. It’s not like any lip balm I’ve tried, people see it on my lips and their like ‘wow, what lip gloss are you wearing’. It’s so smooth, and it smells like vanilla. One of the many reasons I keep it in my bag during NYFW is because of its consistency, it makes it really easy to get matte lipstick off when changing looks between shows. Trust me, you need this in your life (and it’s under $20!). Last but not least a secret weapon sent to from the Estee Edit is their Late Night Eraser. Anyone who has ever done a full fashion week can admit that it’s exhausting, this products helps to hide that from your face. You simply dab a little under your eyes and it removes dark circles and puffiness. This is a product that I keep with me all the time. It’s perfect for hungover mornings, long weeks, and late nights. Life saver! The purse I used this season is from Steve Madden, I’m not sure if they sell it anymore because I couldn’t find it online to link it here. I love it because it has a bunch of different compartments and it comes with a snakeskin pouch which fits my Ipad mini perfectly! Shop the things I’ve mentioned below.
